Karen Markham Graduate Student

I am a recent University graduate where I studied for A BA (Hons) in Fine Art. and obtained a First Class Honours degree. As part of my final project and dissertation I looked into the world of the homeless and how they become invisible. This piece, although not one used for University, was a follow up piece (1 of 3) that was exhibited in a group show at Neo Gallery 22, Bolton, Greater Manchester. Although I like to dabble in most media, my preferred choices are pencil, pen and ink.

Helen Yates superb pet Artist
Please find attached a Jpeg of one of my recent pet portrait commissions ‘Buster on the Beach’ - Pastel on Pastelmat 15x19 Inch. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing his happy face looking back at me every day and was quite sad to see him go! I predominantly work in pastel, favouring them for their strong colours and delicate detail capabilities. Drawing on many years of experience as a specialist animal artist, I create beautifully unique portrait commissions using your own cherished photographs. www.helenyatesart.co.ukinfo@helenyatesart.co.uk Thank you so much for this opportunity – I have my fingers crossed for the competition!  Kind Regards Helen Yates

Website: http://delmonteart.wordpress.com/Bio: “Disregarding the traditional idea that an oil painting is created by just the one painter, Helen McMahon and Jason Robinson create intensely atmospheric abstract paintings as a duet. With a formula that deems the process just as important as the outcome, one relies on the autonomous, reactive and interceptive deeds of the other. Painting alone at different hours but on the same canvas, their separation of ideas and paint creates a togetherness in their works, a "harmonious tension" as they call it, which leaves the viewer questioning whether the painting might be a reference to a landscape, a figure, an experience or an emotion.” Beautiful Crime 2012
We are a collaboration of two artists who share a studio but not the same style of painting. By working jointly on the same painting our different methods of working are combined to create abstract oil paintings with a distinct aesthetic style.
Working to a basic starting formula, we are guided by reaction and response, where music plays an important role. The many thinly layered, muted grounds create a sense of place where contrasting quick, bold actions, whether loud and jarring or a just a subtle intervention, bring to life a narrative, however ambiguous. There are diverse elements of harmony and discord, noise and silence - a visual disturbance amongst the stillness to bring about a dissonant harmony.

Lee Belcher <lenore.belcher@btinternet.com>

I've sent you a picture of my latest painting, "Cape Cross Seals ",
which was a horror to paint and I'm stumped as to how to frame it. It's
oil on board 24"x18".  I paint a lot of African wildlife and landscapes,
mostly from sketches and photographs back in the UK.

I've lived most of my life in the Middle East, France and Africa, and I've
painted all my life, but having never had any formal training there
are bound to be glaring 'mistakes' of technique, but I do enjoy it so much.
I can't paint English scenes--its for watercolourists and I can't cope.
Now I know where you are situated I shall try and visit your premises
next time I am in London.
Best wishes

I am a Wildlife Artist.  I gather my reference material while on location in Africa.  Watching how the animals live and communicate with each other makes each painting very special to me.  I am part of their world, just for a short time.
I photographed this Hornbill while it balanced precariously on a thorny bush.  I called the picture 'A Question of balance'. To hopefully remind the viewer that we all need to respect and help all creatures that we share our amazing planet with.

Balade solitaire new work by emerging artist

Here is a picture of an artwork from a Mauritian Born Artist. A watercolourist more precisely. His name is Riaz Auladin. Since secondary level he found himself with some talents and took part in a few competitions where he received first prize and, second prize in a group competition and a few awards. Boosted, he kept practicing to develop his own technique doing some artworks for privates until came the time for getting into the work market. From then he would not hold the brush again for almost two decades until very recently, January 2013 more precisely, when having more spare times he decided to get back to his old passion. From an artwork to the other he got more confident and decided to run his first ever painting exhibition, which he held in June 2013 with the help of the National Art Gallery, an organism attached to the local Art & Culture Ministry, which help and promote budding artist. The exhibition attracted a lot of visitors and the works of the now forty one years old artist was much acclaimed by local newspapers, critics, artists and the public alike. In between the organizing of the exhibition the artist won a painting competition held at National level and was allocated an all paid trip to the UK, for a cultural tour!
Now the artist is trying to grab a few awards and attention by participating in several competitions on the international level, while preparing for his next exhibition.
The painting on this artwork is kind of mirror for Mauritius; You get the 3S's that made Mauritius well reknowned as a touristic attraction. You get the"Sea, Sand and Sun" with a tourist having a walk in a late afternoon.
The work is water colour and is on paper.Title is "solitary walk"
Yet to be sold, so any inquiry about the painting is welcome.

Robbie's Letting off Steam new work by emerging artist.
Following more than 15 years in the printing/repro industry Dave Hartley embarked on a career in art, working as a freelance illustrator for magazines. However, after several years, he grew tired of the formulaic pieces that these publications required so turned his attention and efforts to the world of fine art.For over 10 years, now, he has been producing high quality pencil drawings on a full time basis.Born in 1970, and originally hailing from Hyde, Dave is now based in Stockport. He seeks out remnants of a forgotten time, capturing the rugged beauty of a lost landscape which was once so commonplace in the towns of Bolton, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale and Stockport, skillfully immortalising them in a distinctive and unique style of graphite art. Whilst, more recently, he has begun to focus on the ordinary and unnoticed aspects of everyday urbanism.Dave's most significant influence has been the late Trevor Grimshaw who, like himself, produced evocative pencil drawings of the northern industrial landscape. Unlike Grimshaw, however, Dave often includes a distinctive human element, in his work, giving the pieces a strong narrative aspect, conspicuously absent in Trevor's drawings. The paintings of Edwin Butler Bayliss, Harry Rutherford and Adolphe Valette also continue to be great sources of inspiration.Very much in the ascendancy, Dave's work regularly appears on the Northern Art page of Facebook and he has exhibited throughout the North West of England in many galleries including The Colin Jellicoe Gallery, Todmorden Fine Art, Colourfield Gallery and Turner's of Stockport. At Stockport Art Gallery his work has been part of their annual Open Exhibition since he became a professional artist. Featuring in many private collections, his original drawings are now becoming widely sought after.Å@Telephone: 0161-291 8176Mobile: 07810 000446Email: davejsh@virginmedia.com / dave@davehartleyart.co.ukWebsite: davehartleyart.co.uk

wendy new work by emerging artist. These are two paintings done by myself - Wendy. The first is a copy of an orientalist painting, done in oil as a practise piece. Perfectionists may say that it is not exact (I took some liberties) but for me it was a chance to paint in oil which I had not really done before.
The painting is now in a lounge/waiting area in a Paris hospital, hence the plaque pictured with it.

I am a self-taught artist and photographer, and am not driven by any pre-conceived style other than to be as free and natural as possible.Simple and uncomplicated results give me the most satisfaction and I prefer to paint on location.I ran my own Building Design Company for many years concentrating on detail, therefore a loose impressionist relaxed style is used in my painting. The sensuality of colour surrounds us, the energy that drives our lives is light.Having been a tutor in photography, art, and architecture courses for mature students, and running painting groups in my local area it gives me great satisfaction to share my finished work with others.Various one-man and collective exhibitions in all media have been mounted in Essex and the North East during recent years. You may contact me at brianhoggart@btinternet.com. or you can see more of my work at htpp://www.saa.co.uk/art/brianhogg.

greensleeves new work.

here are some examples of my work.   Calligraphy, while not my full time job, is  my passion and it is very sad that now that it is no longer taught in evening classes at colleges less and less people are learning it..  Like painting etc it takes about five years of regular practice to achieve and while a computer can turn out lettering by the dozen with very little effort, this computer generation script lacks the vitality and depth of that produced by a dip pen.

Hope you like it

Painting on board new work by emerging artist.
I grew up in London , as did my father , who worked as an Arts  journalist on Fleet street  The place holds many dear memories for me.Most of my adult life , I have lived in rural England,a mother of 2 boys,  mostly Devon.  I  like to paint  and draw, and have shown my work  globally online through Red Bubble and other  networks.. where I come under the name "synthpaintann "There I met with encouragement, but am not so keen on the impersonal nature of the web.
This is a slightly fanciful amusing  illustration of   me , my husband and woofler at home.Portugal has been our home for the last five years. We love the arts , music and books.

I was shocked to hear that  your business is  so alone in London.

Wishing you and your business all the very best. May it be strong and good for many years to come.

Thank you for helping you show  this little picture to the  world.

 Love and Peace

Anne CL  Walter.
